Samsung Fuorisalone

Request

On the occasion of the Fuorisalone, Samsung involved us in the realization of a project inside the National Museum of Science and Technology in Milan, a location of great historical and architectural value, characterized by important limitations on the use of space and the need to fully protect floors and surfaces. The intervention required a technical approach that was extremely respectful of the context, without compromising on the scenic impact.

Solution

In collaboration with the Korean team, we designed and built a series of immersive environments, including a fully projected room on the floor and walls, integrated with LED inserts and covered with mirrored surfaces on the ceiling and walls to amplify visual depth.

One of the most complex aspects was to make the eight projectors in the design completely invisible. For four of them, we developed an articulated lifting structure, designed to fit between the existing chandeliers and suspend the units in a way that was hidden and integrated into the architecture. The other four units, positioned on the wall, were clad with custom-made mirrored casings, perfectly consistent with the aesthetic concept.

Final result

The project required about a month and a half of technical design between structural study, scenographic integration and international coordination. The end result was a pathway divided into six distinct immersive areas, perfectly integrated into the museum space and capable of combining advanced technology, architectural respect and strong experiential impact.
